As we all know, Kelly has her best moments around midnight, (and apparently talks about herself in the third person). Transitioning...
I remember in college, I would sit down with a drink, and write a term paper in two hours. Sometimes, that drink would be a latte at the 24-hour Starbucks down the road. The best one I wrote completely opposed the thoughts of my Phil 201 professor, where I pretty much convinced my "audience" that "Love is the only answer, and Aristotle never quite got it."
I remember in high school, hearing about how I had decided to join my brother and his friends as they hung out in the living room. I knew nothing about it. I was asleep. But I did say some pretty great stuff... if only they could have understood what I was saying.
90% of my songs have been written between 10pm and 4am. The other 10% are happenstance, and another 2% happen while I am driving, and then I just forget them, making it an even 100% total. I don't know how that all works... after all, 72.3% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
I walked up the stairs after getting home from work today, and Ana heard me coming. Aaron asked her "Ana, who is that?!" Ana replied... "Cookie!"
I really love this guy named Aaron, my husband... even though he breathes so heavily in his sleep I sometimes lie awake trying to not sing songs to the beat of his breathing.
Today, Ian remarked from the backseat, "Talia is my best friend." And you know what, I totally get it. She runs like the wind, has a permanent tan, and has probably the sweetest smile ever. AND she lets me braid her hair. (Talia is my niece, almost 8 years old).
And the greatest realization... there is nothing in life that matters if we don't have love. And I'm not talking about love between people, or a love of nature. I'm talking about the only kind of love that satisfies, heals, comforts, guides, and protects. Yep, you know.

Kelly's 2010 Goals:
1. Read a book. This may sound simple to most of you, but for me, this would be an accomplishment! First on the list... The Shack.
2. Include my kids more in what I do. For example, let them vacuum and sweep while I do dishes, or let them crack one or two eggs into a bowl while I cook dinner... or something.
3. Take more pictures, and take them well. This may involve a photography lesson from my gifted brother Jeremy.
4. Lose the gut. Begin with correcting bad eating habits, like ice cream after breakfast or always eating the rest of the food off my kids' plates. Then I shall foster good habits, such as taking long walks, and eating masses of vegetables and fruit every day. (In varied colors and smells). Then, if necessary, a corset.
5. Get OUT more! Maybe its the fact that I have spent the past two weeks quarantining my family so we don't share our sore throats, but I am dying to get out and LIVE!
