We had an amazing time here in Birch Bay this weekend. Jeremy and Deena and the kids drove up from Tacoma, and my Grandparents flew up from Sunnyvale, California! It was such a treat.
The picture below is all the women who were there. Deena brought up a very good point. See the two babies in the picture, Josée and Ana? And then the lady on the right, that's Grandma Ann. The babies, and Ann, are 81 years apart. Even crazier is that they are 90 years younger than Grandpa Phil.
This is Grandma Ann. She has been through the Holocaust, a very long boat ride leaving EVERYTHING behind in Austria, met Mayor LaGuardia and shook his hand (1920's I believe), raising 5 kids (and having do WASH every diaper in the process), and here she is. Amazing, huh?!
And this is Grandpa Phil, who is pretty much the 90 year old version of my Dad. He was born at the end of World War I, lived through the great depression and World War II, fought overseas in WWII, is one of 7 kids, raised 5 kids, is still golfing at the tender young age of 90, and is one of the funniest people ever.
